Chapter One : Desire

This is the underpining theme that runs throughout Mr Hills work...Desire. Its only when we are burning with desire that we are ever going to achieve anything. It is not enough to have a mere wish but we must burn with desire. Through several studies of the chapter i have counted 66 times that the word desire is used. In the chapter he highlights his formula to achieve success.
  1. Fixate your mind on the exact amount of money you want.
  2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for it
  3. Establish a date for it
  4. Choose a definite plan for carrying it out
  5. Write a clear conscise statement stating the above
  6. Read this aloud twice daily

As you read it is essentail that you see and feel and believe that you are in possession of the things you desire

I personally read Think and grow Rich every three months and every tie i read and come through to the process of working on my chief aim i find that i refine and narrow my focus much like amagnifying glass. Each time it gets finer and finer and as a result hotter and hotter.

The mind must become Mony Conscious. This means that our mind must be fixated on the desire that we see ourself in possession already. It is not enought o merely think about our desire when we remember. The universe sends us signals when our mind starts to drift. When you drop something, hear a loud noise and or are startled it is the universes way of saying hey wakey wakey...pull yout hroughts into line.

In the great book Pyschocybernetics Dr Waltz talks about how the mind does not differniate between the read and the thoughts we support with feelings. He undertook some research which had a basketball team divided into three teams. One group did no practise. Another group did the training each week for amonth and the third group spent the same time practising but only using visualising. At the end of a month the group with no practise had stayed the same. The group that had gone and completed the hoops had improved by 24% and the visualising group had improved by 22%.

What does this all mean? What we have in our minds we become and or as Mr Hill states...whatever the mind can believe and achieve we can achieve. Develop a burning desire and flood the mind with the things that are needed to achieve it.

Dotn flounder a moment longer. It is much easier to stear a moving ship that one that is standing still. Be passionate and strive to make the most out of each day.

This is one of my personal favourite chapters in the book and i look forward to sharing the journey with you as Mr Hill reveals the steps to becoming rich through the classis think and grow rich.
